Hay Lights General Information

History: Hay Lights ran a static light show until 2007.  In 2007, Hay Lights added the Mr. Christmas…”Lights and Sounds of Christmas”, a 6 Channel Controller with 10 pre-programmed Christmas songs that played in a electronic sound. In 2008, Hay Lights discarded the “Lights and Sounds of Christmas” and replaced it with the Gemmy “Holiday Light Show”.   This is a 12 channel controller where you can use you own music.  The electronics in the “Holiday Light Show” cause the lights to blink to the music.   This was step up, but the flashing pattern was still very random and very “blinky”. See the two videos from 2010.   In 2011, Hay Lights upgraded to the Light O Rama system with 32 channels.  Each channel of light is individually programmed to the music.  It provides a much more dramatic and sequenced show.

Future Additions: In 2012 Hay Lights bought the wife a gas range so the old stove circuit could be used for more christmas lights. We have added another 32 channels, more songs and leaping arches to the display. In 2013 we added strobelights and one more song to the display.

2014 Changes: No new songs added this year. However we had to remove the two arborvita which the stars and angel had resided on last spring. Snowflakes now replace the stars across the front of the house and the angel circuit is now a dogwood tree at the left front of the yard.
2017 Changes: After taking 2016 off, we made some changes to the yard and took out the over grown cherry tree. We had used this as a focal point in previous displays. Starting in 2017, we are using the channels for a star that we will place over the garage.
2020 Changes: Four new songs added for 2020. We have added a third arch to the display and Santa and his reindeer have returned above the garage. The 4 channel star has been moved to the other side of the roof.
